Focusing on long-term community change, NLEI offers comprehensive workforce development initiatives including Employment Services, post-secondary vocational education and Adult Basic Education encompassing ESL, GED, U.S. Citizenship, job skills enhancement courses, as well as financial literacy workshops designed to teach basic financial principles in both English and Spanish. NLEI strives to provide the impetus for meaningful employment and economic
self-sufficiency. |
| These programs are directed by faculty and management who are professionals in their respective fields and are continuously monitored through statistics and evaluations to the standards of governing and accrediting bodies to ensure continuous quality improvement. All courses and workshops are offered at no cost to students with open enrollment. |

NLEI offers varying levels of GED preparation courses that can be repeated as often as needed. These classes offer students basic reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and U.S. Constitution instruction at varying levels. |

ENGLISH LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION & CITIZENSHIP PREPARATION |

Diseñado para el adulto principiante, NLEI ofrece varios niveles de clases de ESL, sin importar los antecedentes educativos. Los cursos proporcionan la enseñanza en la lectura y las matemáticas diseñada para los adultos que nunca han asistido a la escuela y para los estudiantes que su principal lenguaje es otro aparte del inglés. Las clases de la ciudadanía también se ofrecen dentro de este programa y ayudan a los estudiantes adquirir conocimiento básico en la Constitución de los E.E.U.U. y su historia. Los integradores de ESL tienen la capacidad de avansar a los cursos de la preparación del GED, a las clases vocacionales individuales, y a los entrenamientos vocacionales postsecundarios que proporcionaran la fundación educativa necesaria para obtener y para mantener carreras estables y significativas.

LITERACY PATHWAYS |

Literacy Pathways is designed to bridge the gap between the ESL Advanced Intermediate level and further educational and employment pursuits. Designed for the advanced adult ESL learner, the curriculum incorporates industry-specific life skills into the learning experience, such as healthcare, finances, the U.S. educational system, and exam taking skills. This program allows students to not just learn English but also learn about situations relevant to their everyday lives that will assist them to make crucial decisions for themselves and their families’ futures. |
