1  OFFICE TECHNOLOGY TRAINING

NLEI designed the Office Technology Training Program (OTT) to lessen the “digital divide” for individuals who have limited or no knowledge of computers. Education in computer literacy is a crucial factor that influences the prospects of upward mobility. The training introduces personal computers and popular software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.

The accredited 30-week program places emphasis on keyboarding, word processing, spreadsheets, scanning, data entry, proofing, databases, and accessing the Internet. Classes
are taught in a supportive learning environment.

The curriculum also includes upgrading academic skills in English, spelling, vocabulary, communications, business math, office etiquette, and utilizes simulated work experiences.

For Successful entry into the program candidates must have a high school diploma or GED, an admissions interview; pass a Spanish proficiency exam and placement test.
